Baby Pool and Baths

Walk past our house and you may spot us three girls sitting in our empty baby pool out front! We discovered a new use for the little wading pool - it's the perfect place to enjoy sitting outside. Better than a blanket because the pool does not get all wadded up like a blanket. An inflatable edge provides Lilly with the padding she needs as she checks out the grass. I sit and read or play with the girls while Kaitlyn jumps in and out. Best of all, no ants in our pants or insects to bug us! It's a perfect little spot from which to watch the world.

We have plenty of water fun in the bathtub every night. Now that Lilly is sitting up, the two sisters can take baths together. Kaitlyn usually takes care of Lilly in the tub, sometimes sitting with Lilly between her legs, like she's protecting her. Kate also gives bath toys to Lilly and seems to enjoy having the company. When she gets rough with Lilly, I pull Lilly out, but usually we have no problems. Kate even helps to wash Lilly's hair!

This week has been more interesting than usual because we helped take care of Marna on Sunday and Monday. Sunday just Lilly and I went to her apartment, but Monday morning all three of us went there. I dreaded the possibilities of trying to keep a very active toddler entertained for four hours, but Kaitlyn handled the confinement really well. We spent some time looking over the ledge at the activity downstairs, which she enjoyed immensely. She also did a bit of her "destructo" routine taking things apart and off of tables. But she totally impressed me with her ability to stay calm and cool while I helped Marna with her needs. Lilly slept a couple hours both mornings and played on her blanket or with Marna the rest of the time. Those mornings helped me realize once again how wonderful and amazing our girls truly are.

This morning we went to Baby Bounce at the Plaza library. Kaitlyn and Lilly enjoyed playing with other children while I enjoyed talking with other moms. Kate did not push any children out of chairs today or steal others' toys. She behaved reasonably well, considering the aforementioned acts during last week's Baby Bounce. We love the Plaza library because they have a gorgeous kids' section, all full of windows and toys and bright rugs and books, of course.

The fun never stops around here!

I really do enjoy your blogs! It fills in the little blanks of what's going on at your home.

Sarah, you write very well! Keep up the good work and the pics, too!

Your girls are changing so fast that I am afraid I'll not be able to keep up!

love, GiGi
